Blood on the Clocktower

  • The Lost Dice 111 King William Street Adelaide, SA, 5000 Australia (map)

Every Monday Night

Space is limited! Please book your spot on Warhorn.

Blood on the Clocktower is a bluffing game enjoyed by 5 to 20 players on opposing teams of Good and Evil, overseen by a Storyteller player who conducts the action and makes crucial decisions. The goal of the game is to successfully deduce and execute the demons before they outnumber the townsfolk.

During a 'day' phase players socialize openly and whisper privately to trade knowledge or spread lies, culminating in a player's execution if a majority suspects them of being Evil. Of a 'night' time, players close their eyes and are woken one at a time by the Storyteller to gather information, spread mischief, or kill.

The Storyteller uses the game's intricate playing pieces to guide each game, leaving others free to play without a table or board. Players stay in the thick of the action to the very end even if their characters are killed, haunting Ravenswood Bluff as ghosts trying to win from beyond the grave.

Blood on the Clocktower is a unique Social Deduction game as each player is given their own individual role and abilities.

Please note that bookings require a Warhorn registration.

FAQ

Do I need experience to be able to play?
Nope! We encourage players to read or watch how to play online before their first game, but it’s not required. You may find being familiar with the rules and gameplay helpful for your first game, but many of our players have been taught by our Storytellers and fellow players before and during the game.

What is the cost to play?
The cost to play is $9.90 per person. This fee covers all games played on the night. Food and drink from our restaurant and bar may be purchased separately at additional cost.

I will be late or I have to leave early. Can I still play?
Yes! BotC allows players to join late or leave early without affecting the game with special “Traveller” roles.

Where will the games be run?
BotC is currently being run on the top floor of The Lost Dice. On arrival, please head through the red curtain to the left of the front door and up the stairs to the first floor bar. One of our staff members will be happy to answer any questions and direct you.

Can I turn up on the night without booking?
We request that you book via our Warhorn site so that we can prepare for expected numbers.

How many games will be played on the night?
Games usually take less than 2 hours, and so players can usually expect to play at least 2 games. Our BotC community has expanded enough now that we usually run 2 separate games simultaneously, so 4 games are usually run in total.

What script will we play?
This fluctuates and is generally decided on the night itself. The group plays a variety of scripts and characters including the traditional three scripts, and custom and experimental content for willing participants. If beginners are present, they will likely play a less complex script such as “Trouble Brewing”.

Can I order dinner, snacks and drinks while we play?
Yes! Our BotC seating has table access and players order food and drink as they please. Players can order food and drinks to be delivered to them as they play using the QR codes on the tables or in person at the bar.
Please note that food and drink incur additional costs and are not covered by the $9.90 game fee.

Can I give Storytelling a go?
Not on a first visit, but possibly. Many of our experienced players have given it a go at some point.

Can I run a game with my friends using your BotC Grimoire on a different day of the week?
Sure! Provided you’ll treat it with care, ask one of our staff and we’ll get it for you.
